The Dangrove Art Storage Facility project has won the Australian Steel Institute Award for Large Projects. The use of structural steel was integral to the design philosophy and key to the success and aesthetics of the ‘state of the art’ building.

As part of the winning team, TTW worked closely with architects Tzannes Associates, project manager Aver, builders Infinity Constructions, steel fabricators and detailers, to bring this striking facility to realisation. Purpose-built to house Chinese art collector Judith Neilson’s significant art collection, the space is a departure from traditional warehouses – with the functionality and flexibility to not only store and display artwork, but also host private events. The structure consists of 10,000m2 of space over two levels and incorporates a dramatic Great Hall, used for displaying, evaluating and curating.
